Description: The band, RORY plans to release their first ever full length record entitled We're Up to No Good, We're Up to No Good in 3 months and 19 days on JULY 25, 2006! The thing is, as I'm sure that most anyone who reads this will already know, they've worked for, quite literally, YEARS on making this come into being. (For those who DON'T know: Some incarnation of RORY has been in existence since 1998. And the only thing they have to show for it, 7 and a half years later, is a 5-song EP, and a few hundred shows around most of the country under their belts. Granted, it's all been indescribably AMAZING, and to say that they have played across the country is more than they ever had thought they could honestly say. Additionally, they have some of the BEST fans that any band could ever hope for. Their slow start has certainly made earning honest, diehard fans an opportunity that most bands miss all together in their entire run (and their still just beginning.)) They've been making this record for well over 2 years now, or over 7 years depending on how you look at it. They originally released that 5-song EP Always Right as in We Are in order to give those who had no idea that they existed a certain little sample of their existence in the world. It also helped as a lot to realize where they were and shape where they wanted to go musically and personally. The response to this simple sampling of their creativity and talent has been mind-blowing. For the past 22 months that it has been in circulation, they have acquired every single reaction that anyone could provide them with. There's nothing they like more than honesty when it's comes to this. They've seen where their strong points lie and where their faults undermine us. Looking around recently at the people they play in front of, at the interweb from many different windows, they realize that hardly anyone is aware of what they do and who they are. For all of them, RORY is quite literally their ENTIRE LIFE. Everything they do is in some way intended to push along their music and image and ideas and goals, etc, etc. Day jobs they drag their feet through day-to-day just so they have enough money to pay their insurance to drive the van from show to show, and maybe in a few months they can afford a new piece of gear that check out at Guitar Center every week and constantly scan Ebay for a great deal on; ignorance toward their friends and family in order to improve their set and enjoy their travels; weight loss because when you love something so much, basics of living take a back seat. This is much more a declaration of how much they truly are enjoying what they are doing and how INSANELY MUCH they appreciate every single person who has ever allowed their music to enter their ears, who has watched them dance on stage, who has danced in a crowd, who has sent them an email, who has sent them a snail mail, who has driven through towns to see them, who has shaken their hand, who has hugged them, who has bought a cd, who has bought a shirt and cd, who has donated food or water, who has given them an easter basket with a $20 gas card, who has given them a floor to sleep on and a roof to sleep under, who has given them couches and beds to sleep on, who has let them use their laundry facilities, who has driven them to the hospital at 2 AM, anyone who has ever made this what it is, no matter what you've done... This is why we [RORY] put so much work into it. It all comes together on the other side to make it a worthwhile lifestyle. Truthfully, none of the five individuals who add up to much more than five, who add up to RORY ever imagines themselves being any happier in any other place in the world. So, enough of this. All they ask is that you keep doing what you're doing. Keep listening, keep playing them in your car when you drive your friends around, keep telling your friends about them, keep putting them on your myspace profile, keep leaving comments, keep emailing, and keep coming to shows!
