What began as a pipe dream in a Minneapolis garage has evolved into one of the most exciting bands to come out of the Midwest. Dropping Daylight blends the piano-based songwriting of Sebastian Davin, with the power and energy of a great young rock band (guitarist / brother Seth Davin, bassist Rob Burke, and drummer Allen Maier). The result is a unique sound that displays a musical maturity beyond their years.
Armed with a loyal following built on the back of hundreds of shows, the piano-laced rock band Dropping Daylight is gearing up to release their debut album Brace Yourself on Octone Records. Hailing from Minneapolis, the bands debut EP Back to Nowhere garnered regional airplay throughout the Midwest and had tracks appear on MTVs The Real World. The band toured with Simple Plan, Yellowcard and the 2004 Vans Warped Tour. In 2005, they released their second EP, Take A Photograph, which garnered them a "You Hear It First" spotlight on MTV. Dropping Daylight toured to support their EP with Lucky Boys Confusion, Motion City Soundtrack, Mae, Say Anything, Jason Mraz, The Plain White Ts and Unwritten Law. Their first full-length album, Brace Yourself, was produced by David Bendeth (Hawthorne Heights, Breaking Benjamin) and will be released June 13 on Octone Records (Maroon 5, Flyleaf). Their non-stop touring schedule will include upcoming dates with Phantom Planet, Flyleaf and this summers Vans Warped Tour.
