Pop Punk is the most generic indie band title. So many bands have the high voiced singers, poppy guitar licks, and the same generic sound as everyone else in the category. But what happens when you put a flamenco guitarist along with musicians that are well experienced in jazz? The Lives Of Famous Men just scream the word “innovative”. They bring pop punk a totally new style mixed with the ever so enticing sounds that everyone knows and loves from the genre.
Modern Love, The Wooden Vehicle is absolutely amazing and I cannot wait to see what else comes from the group. "Annie Taylor", the first song off of the EP, refers to the first person to fall down Niagara Falls and survive, envisioning her thoughts before the stunt. The best part about this track is that the melody, relaxing and enjoyable as it is, doesn’t take away from the high pitched and powerful vocals of Dan Hall. "Chandeliers and Piano Keys" has that happy-go-lucky vibe with a vocal style that makes you feel like you’re just floating up in the clouds. "Notes From A Cult Classic" plays the album perfectly as an ending song. It starts off energetic and summer time styled, leading into a piano covered ending that leaves on a great note for what’s to come from these guys. Each track on the EP makes perfect “long trip from home” music. It’s the type of stuff you listen to when the days just sunny enough and there are no clouds for miles.
Imagine yourself feeling the cool breeze through your hair, as you lie out on the beach with a clear sky above your head. The Lives Of Famous Men are the essence of what relaxing music is supposed to be. The group will go as far as they’re willing to push. Their innovative style, clean crisp vocals, and drive will bring them to new heights in the musical community.
