Terra Terra Terra – Mind Like A Man, Soul Like A Child
Every now and again we all need a reason to believe, and music helps us by giving us reason to go on and making us feel new again. To uplift and inspire should be every musicians objective in the end, just like the band Terra Terra Terra and their album Mind Like A Man, Soul Like A Child that reverberates everything honest and heartfelt about music in today’s scene.
The album begins with the ominous sounding “Prologue” into the first song “Paradigm” which holds steady with a nice poppy pace and charmingly light vocal delivery into a falsetto led large chorus. Following this pop charmer is the obvious radio-hit “Transmission Lost” that grabs the listener and thrusts them into Terra Terra Terra’s world with fast guitars and a hook-laden chorus that is just to catchy to ignore.
Mind Like A Man, Soul Like A Child is a very honest affair that brims with pop wonder, whether it be within a flurry of guitars such as on the song “Taking Her Home” or amongst bouncing pianos like on the second last smash “Wrong This Right” that makes them so endearing to listen to.
Overall the album may suffer from some repetition, but it is no doubt an impressive showing from a band that is comfortable with themselves and the music they are creating. Mind Like A Man, Soul Like A Child is fun, honest and naturally beautiful at times (“The Coast Is Clear”) There’s no telling where Terra Terra Terra is headed, all that can be said is they will have their hearts on their sleeves the entire time, wearing them proudly.
